An Evening with Peter Rollins
9/16 8pm West End Wine Bar – Chapel Hill
Join us for an evening of incendiary reflection and conversation as Peter Rollins interrogates how we might cultivate life-giving, transformative zones that challenge social, political and religious oppression. By employing the figures of the Trickster and the Fool Peter will explore how we might engage in truly subversive acts, acts that operate in the name of life, liberation and lasting change.
Peter gained his higher education from Queens University, Belfast and has earned degrees (with distinction) in Scholastic Philosophy (BA Hons), Political Theory (MA) and Post-Structural thought (PhD). He is the author of numerous books, including Insurrection: To Believe is Human; to Doubt, Divine and The Idolatry of God: Breaking our Addiction to Certainty and Satisfaction. He was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, currently lives in Los Angeles and will die somewhere as yet not known.
The event is free and open to the public.
Coming Soon! ·late fall
An evening delving into the mysterious intersection between divinity and brokenness. This transformance art experiment is a mixture of music, creativity, story and art. Our pursuit is to curate a type of suspended space in which we may leave our cultural, political, and religious views at the door; let go of our frantic pursuits for wholeness; sensitize ourselves to one another; and learn to embrace existence.
